OUR TROOP
Who We Are
We are Troop 1390 of the National Capital Area Council, Occoquan District, located in Dale City, VA. Our chartering organization is Woodbridge Elks Lodge #2355. With the hard work of our scouts, support from our families and the dedication of our excellent leadership, Troop 1390 has been able to stand the test of time with almost 50 years of active duty.
We currently have more than 41 registered scouts and 21 active scouters. We meet on a weekly basis with the exception of holidays at the Woodbridge Elks Lodge #2355, 14602 Minnieville Rd, Woodbridge, Virginia 22193, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.
Our History
Troop 1390 was established in 1974. Since then, we have had over 300 young men from the Woodbridge community enjoy scouting with us and over 50 of them have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Our parent involvement is what keeps us going. We have had over 100 adults become registered leaders, which has helped our boys matriculate through scouts and enjoy many different scouting activities.
For almost 50 years, the adult leadership has provided a number of camping opportunities, allowing our scouts the chance to not only explore Virginia, but also to travel to other places like West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and the Bahamas.
In addition to camping, our scouts have also completed numerous service projects including, but not limited to, laying wreaths at Quantico National Cemetery during the holidays, Prince William Forest Park, Prince William Park Authority, ACTS, Prince William County Homeless Prevention Shelter, Dale City Historical Trail, Muriel Humphrey Respite Day Care Center, many Prince William County Schools, Rikkis Refuge, Talgren Baseball for Lukemia, Prince William County Hypothermia Shelter and Relay for Life.
